There is so much to see that you arrive late at San Marco!

I really never thought go to Venice. But suddenly I was there. Cheap flights in my case from Brussels to Venice made it possible. You can not imagine the view I had in a July summer afternoon…Regular flights also are for sure, but my expenses were already great because of the long flight Sao Paulo-Paris. And my money made as tour guide in Brazil is much lower than Euro or US Dollar and I planned to stay one month crossing Europe. I was so happy because this was the 23rd day journey and final was Milan. And all Internet bookings through Europe were perfect and you can not imagine how happy I was arriving at the tenth country planned…I love arts, architecture, operas, concerts and used credit cards to pay hotels, restaurants and flights were already paid before.
My friends and me we booked all in advance because Venice, or Venetia, is one of world’s tourist top destinations. Prices use to be higher, but we managed our budget. The best hotels and restaurants attend tourists coming by plane and cruisers along the big channel. Nevertheless small places are plenty of and the choice is yours. Lonely places are also charming, you'll find some even 'hidden'. It is not easy to tell everything…a day ticket for the boat-bus…San Marco Cathedral is very beautiful.

Cathedral façade is rich in relieves and paintings

Is doesn’t seem real…all time in schools we learn history and lots about Venice. Here we are at the main square. Artistic paintings at the façade, square side galleries. I spend lots of time in the galleries….guess what? Taking pictures because you never see again those elegant shops, crystals, masks, purses, jewels. All is mainly because the design is unique, the atmosphere, location, elegance, artistic sense of everything. Besides the photos, I encourage you to check the links if you are in doubt to come: http://shops.venicexplorer.net/index.php?hlangs=en

How much time did we spent at San Marco? Not possible to say...

If you think Venice is too tourist, artificial as I thought…it is not. My advise is go to mix yourself everywhere with local people. To walk alone is also nice. Stop at a channel, take pictures. Don’t forget to bring a good camera and lots of memory or a camcorder because you can record the boat sounds, bells, sea birds, the gondola and tenor voice on the gondola. If not record the voice of the gondolier greeting his fellow.

The pastry colors of old walls and buildings, light effects, design of façades, windows and roofs make you exaggerate with photos. But do it. Back home it is unbelievably poetic show them on a screen with music. If you invite friends for a punch or put them on a DVD while you dinner…the best moments await you… Well, we are at San Marco Square, San Marco Cathedral. We went inside to see the organ, paintings…how much time do we spent there? It is not possible to say…How much time would you spend there? It depends on you…
